nipping nail biting in the bud?

my 6yo dd has just recently started biting
her nails. Can anyone give any advice on
how to stop her before it develops into an
entrenched habit?

There's that stuff you can paint on that tastes foul, and might stop her from biting them before it becomes a habit?

DD was bribed out of it by me giving her regular manicures...Only the unbitten nails got polish and little stickers on
