Would you expect a 2 year old to be able to sit down through nursery 'circle time?'

My 25 month old DS goes to nursery a couple of times a week. He's doing really well, seems to really enjoy it. Their 2 year review was v good etc - but when I asked if he sat down for circle time with the others, they said he tends to sit on edge and then wander off.

He has a v short attention span anyway and likes to run around - they didn't seem worried about it - but when should he be expected to sit through a seated group activity? Is it age appropriate that he does n't?

No! That's hard for some 4, 5 yr olds. Ds1 started sitting still in reception and yr 1 in school.

No not at all at 2. Some will but it's not really expected.

No. I wouldn't expect a 2 year old to be able to sit still for circle time.

Thanks all! That's helpful. I know nothing about this sort of stuff!
