calling all mums - what do you call your privates?

Ds 2.5 is getting a bit curious! he knows he has a willy & that daddy/boys also have willy's. He knows mummys/girls do not have a willy, & that we have boobies, but we havent broached the other as ive no idea what to call it! It doesnt seem right to use vagina since we're not calling his bits by their proper name, but it feels a bit silly referring to it as a twinkle/fufu whatever. So cmon what do you call yours?!

We say front bottom. There's a lot going on down there and the vagina is just one part of that. He'll have plenty of time later to find out about the individual bits and pieces.

I've always used vagina and penis, I'm not a big fan of the fluffy words tbh. My mum always called it a mini or a flower when I was growing up though.

Vagina=moo moo or mini
Penis=willy

In our family, a vagina was always a neath (cause it's under-neath, see?)

Used to call it a moo, until one day i was off for a smear and my friend ( gynae nurse ) said " hope you've washed your 'mary' " I laughed so much that for years it was 'mary' now i keep calling it fanjo though because of MN

My Mum called it a tiddle but I'm with MissyMoo - the actual words are perfectly fine.

I always try to use the correct words for everything with my dcs...but when it comes to private parts penis etc sounded far too grown up coming out of the mouth of a toddler. We resorted to tinkle...Ds has a boys tinkle and Dd has a girls tinkle. There'll b plenty of time to learn the correct terminology and also probably a lot more I don't want them using!

I'm having similar issue with my wee girl - she has older and younger brothers. We call their penises 'willies' but I've always wimped out of labelling her bits and we've fudged it by saying 'private area'.
Recently we realised she thinks this is actually what it's called thanks to her laughing histerically at the thought of someone having two willies, and then said: 'mummy, imagine if you had two private areas...'. Cue uncontrollable laughter from her and my realisation that I need to find a word and stick to it.

I hate fluffy stuff too - although a friend did suggest Fandango.....

DS has a willy & DD has a pinky. No idea why, it just happened like that.

I use the proper words. Because I do use the proper words for theirs. I prefer there to be no confusion. And I don't want to give them the impression there's anything wrong with their genital and, for me, that starts with giving them weird names or talking about them in hushed tones.

I appreciate different people have different views on that. I'm just giving mine.

Minnie here. It was front bottom in our house growing up but I think that sounds prudy.

I think minnie & willy match for tweeness. I have discussed with DD that it's really called a vulva but she struggled to pronounce it.

Willy and mini here too! I have used tuppence before but not sure where the phrase originates so am sticking with mini.

DD calls hers her "little crease" - think it came from when we dry her after a bath, and dh always says "make sure all the creases are dry". She's only 3, it works for her. I will teach her 'vulva' when she's older.

Proper names here. Penis and vagina/vulva.
