Hi all,

I've just received my appointment letter for my little boy's 10-13 month check, which will be done as a home visit. There's no other information and his red book doesn't say anything. I was just wondering exactly what it involves, if any of you can enlighten me please? Thanks!

for our DD's 13 month appt with the HV we had to go to them at the Surestart centre but it didn't involve much.
Yhey wanted to ask/see how mobile she was (crawling/walking) and how dextrous (passing a toy from one hand to the other). We also weighed her, and I think we discussed how she was feeding.
It's also an opportunity for you to ask any questions or discuss anything you might be worrying/unsure about.

Ok, thanks! I haven't seen a health visitor since he was 4 months old, so it will be nice to have something!

I seem to remember they stripped DD off and checked her over in the nude, so be prepared for that. Weighed her, I don't think they did height. Then they just watched her play with a puzzle and asked me questions about her development/eating/sleeping/teething, etc. Oh and are you reading lots to your child, you know not to spill boiling water on her head, don't you? Lots of sucking eggs stuff like that too.
