Says my 4 year old ds when he has asked to do something and I say no. along with:

I'm going to rip my hair out (hard to keep a straight face for that one)

You're not coming to my next birthday party (well you won't have one then mate!)

I'm not going to wake up in the morning

How on earth do I reply to these or should I ignore?

You've got to give it to him - they are original! That's a hard one, I guess the answer (IMO) would be to ignore him because I think he is just saying these things to get a reaction/attention from you.

ignore...he just wants a reaction!

Ignore - or just say "OK", and walk away.

You say.. (re the house) "That's nice.. be sure to fix it afterwards!", smile pleasantly at him and then leave the room he is in.

Re the not waking up in the morning.. "Right ho! I'll eat your breakfast then!"
