Not so much as late, but very, very slow! DS's first tooth started to appear at just before 8 months. He's now 10 months and that tooth isn't fully through yet. The second is, I think, on its way but is taking a really long time. Did anybody else's LO take such a long time for the teeth to come through?? And does a gap of over 2 months between the first two mean that all the others will have the same gap, coz at this rate he'll be 4 before he gets all 20 of them.

dd had 1st one come through at about 9 months, 2nd at about 10.5 and none since. She was 1 last week! I want her to get her top 2 so she can eat sandwiches with ease Grin

My ds has no teeth yet and he is 18 months old

Not even a lumpy gum here at 9.5 months [toothless grin!]. DSs were both 12 months before any appeared. DS1 didin't loose any milk teeth until 8yrs. DS2 (six next month) only child in his class who hasn't had a visit from the tooth fairy and is insanely jealous lol.

two lower teeth at 10months, then nothing until half an upper tooth at 13months, and a second upper tooth trying to get out at 14months

Bottom 2 at 10 months and then nothing until 13 months when top 4 (very large)teeth appeared all at the same time...and without a whimper!

My ds (14mo) now has 4 top front teeth and 3 bottom front teeth (don't know why the 4th is taking so long?). His first back tooth is coming through, it appeared as a big lump in his gum 2 months ago and only cut through this weekend so yes they can take ages to come through! :)
