Is this common?

My 3mth old ds sticks his tongue out so that it reaches his chin. It was one of his earliest facial gestures as he seems to be contented when he does it. I know it sounds strange but I've not seen any other baby do this and wondered if it is normal as he does it a lot!

Actually, I've seen loads of babies do it ... all except my daughter in fact and I decided (as a neurotic mother always does) that she must have a short tongue and would probably get a lisp ...
