When did your toddler stop having a bottle of milk for bed?

As in, the transition to a cup before bed?

My dd still likes milk for bed (in a bottle) unless she falls asleep having cuddles

No help but my sons nearly 1 and can't see him giving up his bottle anytime soon!

DS was 18 months and did it himself.

Ds was 20 months. Was only drinking a few oz of milk by then so we decided to switch to a cup. He point blank refused to drink milk from a cup, we persisted in offering it for over a month but no joy so we just gave up & that was that! Instead he has a drink of water or very dilute juice in a cup.

I swopped DS's bottle for a cup on his first birthday and he didn't protest. He wasn't really interested in his bottle tbh. I mainly really on him getting milk with his cereal and I have found he drinks milk well at tea time, so offer him a cup then and he always has water available in a sippy cup.

Ds1 was bfed but stopped at 18mths.

Ds2 bfed till almost 4 yes.

Ds3 bfed till 3 and a half yes.

Ds4 had a bottle before bed til 3yrs 5 maths.

Dd is 25mths and has a bottle before bed.

Just clean their teeth afterwards :)

Dd has been asking for a little bit for her day time nap :s

She has milk to go to sleep in her cot. Maybe I'll let her have some milk downstairs and snuggle then know its time for bed? To which she might get upset and also has her dummy still.

Dummy, bottle (she was bf to 13.5m) and change from cot to toddler bed... Changes to be done but when??!!

DS is 2 and still has a bottle or two during the night. I'm a bad mother I know.

But he likes it and I don't wannaaaa...

DD is 2.5 and still goes to bed with a bottle of milk, no plans to give it up just yet. She also has a dummy. She loves them and I don't want to take it away from her yet.

2 years here. She had a bad vomiting bug so no milk, we then just carried on.

I swapped her bedtime bottle for a beaker (that was her only bottle), 2 days later she stopped bothering with it at bedtime.

We switched to beaker around 18 months (in bed but sitting up) and moved towards brushing teeth after milk. We dropped a bed time milk around 3 as they stopped wearing nappies at night so offered milk earlier in the evening /after tea instead.

Dd went off drinking milk when she turned 1. I still offered her milk in bottle when she was going to bed, but would only have a few oz. then she got the sickness bug and went off food/drink for a week so decided just to use the opportunity, she was 14 months. She now has a cup in morning and evening after bath. Drinks fine and has done from cup since 5 months

Have tried to get ds 2.2 onto cups several times. He just loves his bottle and won't drink it out of anything else. I've stopped worrying as I guess he'll do it when he's ready. It's just a comforting part of his bedtime routine, so who am I to take that away from him?

She still has one now at cough3y4mcoughcough. Been a little bugger about giving up the "bottlemilkie". Although we've been having a few conversations recently about how she's not a baby any more, although she assures me that she is still a teeny-tiny person and needs the bottlemilkie.

DS just stopped his at 22m. He was just chewing on the teat and messing around a lot of the time so I decided to stop. He drinks a lot less milk now, but I suspect he was drinking too much previously simply because he liked using the bottle. (He would occasionally throw up his dinner after having his milk, and it seemed to be a case of being greedy and gorging himself)

Never ever had one. They stopped having milk at bedtime when I stopped bf-ing at about 10-11 months each. Has never bothered either of them.

ds 18 months just loves his bottle in the cot - i give it to him when going to sleep and first thing in the morning (he usually falls asleep for another hour or so after it in the morn). He actually jumps up and down giggling with joy and excitement when he seem me coming with it - so i couldnt take it away from him yet!!
Trying to wean him off his afternoon bottle for past month with some success.

DD stopped having milk at 1 when I switched from baby bottles to the older straw cups. DS at same stage is still having his in a straw cup, and I brush teeth after.

OP I would ditch the dummy last, it will make the other changes easier!

I stopped DS's at 15months, but he wasn't allowed to fall asleep on the bottle much after a year, after the firm talk we got about teeth brushing at the Children's Centre.. He doesn't have milk at bedtime at all now (too much faff going back downstairs to brush teeth afterwards - downstairs bathroom).
