Bed wetting after being dry for 3 years!

DS is 5.5 and has been dry at night since he was potty trained at 2.5. He has recently been peeing the bed about once a week. There are no obvious causes of stress and he's well.

He's always done it occasionally, usually if very tired. But this frequency is greater and I'm getting really fed up. He's also had a run of peeing himself before getting to the loo and also getting distracted and peeing all over his clothes or the floor.

My gut feeling is that it's laziness, because there isn't a change in urinary frequency or anything. I've been quite stern particularly about missing the toilet and or
It seems to be a bit better but the night time thing has me stumped. Any ideas?

Did he start school in sept? Stress or tiredness from that?

Yes, but the bed wetting started since then - we had a month or so of getting up at 4am but no peeing! Probably since just before Christmas it's been more often (I don't think it happened at all between August and December).

He was tossing and turning last night so I put him on the loo. He slept about an hour longer than usual! He suggested I do it every night - told him he could forget that idea!

Any other thoughts?

When ds did this he had a foreskin infection. There was nothing obviously visible. The GP said that he's never known it start happening without a reason. Worms is another reason.
