will a bumbo help me???

dd is 4 months, she doesnt like lying on back on playmat, constantly trying to sit herself up and making disgruntled noises we have a bouncy chair which she only goes in when having a quick nap (comfy lie back one) , she likes door bouncer for short periods. She basically likes sitting bolt upright on my knee all day , and i am finding it a bit difficult to get anything done in the house. would a bumbo be a good buy? it seems a lot of money? how long can they be used for? or would i be better with a highchair and some how wedging her in it with cushions?

Ds also did not Nike lying down. I quite often out him in his push chair it's most upright. We also had a baby bjorn bouncer which was fairly upright that he loved. But yes, the bumbo was good too at that age. I would pop him in it in the kitchen counter next to me while I tidyied up or whatever.

They are expensive though so check out second hand or see if you can borrow one - both the baby bjorn bouncer and the bumbo we borrowed from friends because they don't get used for long and by the time their next baby needed it, ds was done with it. The bumbo especially is great, but is only used for a short time.m

Sounds like it may well suit her - can you look for a second hand one eg at nct nearly new sale or kiddie charity shop? She'll try to get out of it when she wants to start moving I think - r
If you got an ikea antilop highchair they have an insert to support little one - not used it myself but just know they exist.

Sorry -Imeant moving like rolling over and back shuffling. Mine did lits of back arching to get out but maybe yours will be more content if she just wants to sit up?

Get a 2nd hand one.

the 2nd hand bumbos seem very pricey too, which i suppose means that i can sell it on and get at least half of my money back later. I am tempted now by the ikea antilop, it has really good reviews.

The Bumbo's an absolute godsend when they're desperate to sit up but can't, but only for a couple of months before they learn to nosedive out of it. They do keep their value though and tend not to get damaged, so get a second hand one and sell it on.

I used the bumbo a lot from 12 weeks as like u my dd always wanted to sit up, now 7 months and use it more than the highchair with the tray on. The big investment was the red kite sit me up... Think it was only £16 but dd has spent so much time sat in it .... Wish I hadn't bothered with a bouncy chair as she just hates the laying back position
