Since I started working in the summer our 3 yr old son has become very clingy with me and now won't go out with his dad at weekends unless I'm there too. Its hard to get anything done at home because ds doesn't leave me alone if I'm doing something that doesn't involve him. He gets plenty of time with me every day as I'm between jobs at the moment and have the time to spend but when dp is around at weekends ds won't let him parent. Always screams for me and dp get stressed and backs down.
Is this normal? Should dp be asserting his 'dadness'? Or is this just a phase that will pass?
