Scared Im going to lose it soon...

DS was 3 in September and pretty much over night has become the child from hell...Im at the end of my tether. He shouts, no screams, constantly, refused to eat for nearly 2 weeks now, hitting, breakung toys...I could go on. Its only directed at DP and I...we go visits and he is fine. Nursery reports no issues. Is it tbe 2's coming late?! Im in tears every night, exhaustec by it all...

What has changed?

Naps?

Ear problems?

Cold?

Moved home?

Sibling?

Or could it be the excitement of christmas - has he been getting enough sleep and getting out in fresh air?

Thanks Iggly...the only thing different has been Christmas when nursery closed for a week, he's back on Monday. As a rule he doesnt nap anymore, but knows he can grab his blinky anytime he needs a rest. He's not had any illnesses for months and then it was a cold.

Maybe Christmas has been a bit much for him then and he's out of routine? Try not to get sucked in when he kicks off - stay calm and tell him you will wait until he's stopped screaming etc. do give him extra cuddles when you can. Kids thrive on routine so get a bit out of sorts when things change. With our ds (he's 3.3) we keep his routine the same every day - over Christmas we only skipped the odd normal day otherwise he goes a bit loopy. Earlier bedtimes have helped too.
