16 month old- wide awake during night

My 16 month dd has started waking during the night. She's previously slept through most nights since she was around 7months, she does occasionally wake but will resettle within 10 mins. However the last few weeks she has been waking 2-3 times and been wide awake, wanting to chat & play! Last night she went to bed at 7 as usual, woke at 11.30, took an hour to go back to sleep, then again at 2, & 4 too.
How can I stop her?

What are her naps like during the day squeeze?

She usually gets up around 6.30, then back down at 10-10.30 for n until about 12..... She hasn't napped on an afternoon for a few months now

My dd went through this phase it turned out to be her teeth. I think she just couldn't get in a deep sleep with the nagging pain

So she's not having too much sleep during the day. How is her sleep now? Are things improving? Agree with addicted, it could be her teeth.

On & off really but I'm not sure whether her teeth are bothering her at the moment, maybe a month ago but none coming now.
If she doesn't get up throughout the night it's a 5am start, sigh, & when she does wake up she wakes everyone up cos she's so loud!

Can remember my DS doing that for a while, it's a killer isn't it. Can't do links at the mo but try googling askdrsears waking up to early. There are a few tips you might find useful. Also, when my friends dd did this she stopped giving her 3 biggish meals a day and gave her more, smaller meals and she started sleeping later.
