How do you speak to them? Do you tend to shout, or speak quietly? I find keeping calm, but firm, and explaining what will happen if they do not do as I ask works well. If they don't do it, then follow through, as long as you are sure they have heard you obviously!

Try a reward system to keep your dd in bed - make a chart together and record how many times she has slept through each week. Agree that 5 weekdays then a small treat at weekend , even if that is just 1 to 1 time. She could do it but won't if you continue to come running.

Likewise allow yourself time alone. 6 is plenty old enough to be asked to sit and play quietly for 10 minutes - get a kitchen timer if needs be. If you need to discipline give one warning quietly , another forcefully then carry it through on 3rd occasion.
