DD is 11.5 months and has suddenly become really clingy towards me. she will not accept anyone else's attention if i am in the house. she screams and fusses even if my OH picks her up and tries to comfort her while i'm doing tea or something. it's getting a bit silly and i don't know what to do about it.
i left her with my sister yesterday for a couple of hours and she was really well behaved and if i am out of the house she behaves really well for her dad. what is going on?!
she seems to want my constant attention if i am around and even seems to get jealous if i'm talking to OH or paying him attention! what can i do about it? isit normal at this age? she has gone through a bit of separation anxiety before but this doesn't seem to be the same thing. her daytime naps have also gone a bit off recently as well but she still seems to be ok at night, touch wood!

My 18mth DD does this too. She's fine if I'm not around but just wants me if I'm in the house. So incredibly draining. No advice really, just to say I think its pretty normal. I do try my best to ignore it and let DH deal with her as much as possible though else I'd never get a break.

oh I meant to say, I think its worse when she's teething.

Normal. They do it when you're there because they want you. I've pandered to both of mine when in these phases and it soon passes. You make them feel better.

It could be teething, illness, developmental...

Just think - if you're upset about something you show your true feelings in front of the person that you trust the most and can let go in front of. That's whatshe is doing.
