Mums and Dads of Toddlers...

Anyone else have a toddler who isnt a tear around. Everywhere I go toddlers are on the go all the time, my ds just sort of doddles along and while he quite enjoys going on the slide and swing he isnt really physically driven. He has only been walking for the last month and practices at most opportunities but seems to tire easily and will only be up about an hour before cuddling up with Mon Mon (his cuddly monkey. He is definately more interested in books, fine motor activities and quiter activities than gross motor. He isnt able to ride a ride on properly as he just isnt interested. Now Im not actually worried I think it is just what he is like and thats fine but just wondered if there are other kids in this age group who prefer the slower pace that he does. (BTW his iron etc have all been checked and he does take supplementary iron so anemia isnt the issue)

my 19m dd is just like this, enjoys walking and swimming, but has never been very physical. She loves books, puzzles, drawing and sticking. She's overall rather quiet and is easily overwhelmed in a noisy environment. i'm not in the least worried, myself and hubby are pretty quiet people too.

I think my dd is kind of half and half, quite quiet at times with the occasional flurry!! I like her quiet! Smile

DS1 was a quiet toddler. His tearing around didn't really start until he was 4 and even that wasn't manic. He still loves a good book (he's 13). His biggest passion is sport and that's the only place that he "tears around" Smile

Besides, your toddler's only been walking a month, it may or may not change. Smile
