Worried about DS2

My DS2 has just turned 8 months and I am a little worried.

I went to see the health visitor for his 7 months check about 4 weeks ago and she was concerned as he wasn't weight bearing, flat footed. He was doing it but just didn't while we were there. Funnily enough, he hasn't stood on his tiptoes since. He is crawling on his knees, sitting up and is pulling himself to stand.

She did point out that he wasn't babbling. Even though this is my third child, I always thought babbling was when they made any sounds like oooo and aaahh. This hv told me that it had to be double, mamama, or dadada. He still isn't doing this. He also doesn't copy me or point at things.

He is generally a very happy baby. Smiles at people, good eye contact when he isn't being nosey about what is going on. Like to be with people and cries when I leave the room. He loves being snuggled and as far as I know, has no hearing issues.

Am I worrying too early or am I right to.

I'm saying this as my judgement might be clouded. My DS1 has a developmental delay, possibly due to the glue ear he had that has only just been corrected or because of another issue.

8mths?! Ffs hvs have to be the sorriest bunch of people on the planet. They get on my nerves pronouncing things like its scripture and leaving so many people scared witless by their inanity. Make traffic wardens look positively cuddly....

My dd at 8mths didn't stand, ever. She clapped, smiled, pointed a bit and did craw by nearly 9mthsl. She didn't try to stand til 10mths and once she did she walked in a month. All are different. Try not to worry.

Ur hv is plainly a moron. Were he much older eg 2 i'd be worried, but at 8 mths he sounds perfectly normal. Be happy. He sounds lovely.

My ds is 8 months a couple of days. Everyone tells me how advanced he is.... He can't pull to standing yet, he makes a lot of noises but I would say it was babbling. I have absolutely no concerns about him, he is fabulous and flourishing! You know your boy, ignore this woman! he sounds perfectly normal and what, of he does the things she expects now in a few weeks, will it stop him doing anything when he's 2, 10 or 25?! No, he's fine.
