My toddler (nearly 3) is having tantrums every time we drop her off at nursery but only when a particular keyworker is there to receive her. There are four keyworkers for her age-group; for now I?ll call them Nicky, Hannah, Clare and Fiona. Nicky is her keyworker and her hands-down favourite. DD adores her. If Nicky isn?t there yet in the morning when DS arrives, she is disappointed/a little upset to be handed to Clare or Fiona. But if it?s Hannah, she screams the house down. We feel confident that there is nothing more behind this than ?Hannah isn?t Nicky?, though why she is more upset with her than the other two, we don?t know. She appears to have no problems being with Hannah at any other time. We?ve tried asking her why she doesn?t like Hannah in the morning but all she says is "I don't like Hannah" - she seems unable to give a reason (but at least she doesn't say "Hannah shouts/hits etc."). We?ve tried a quiet word with staff to find out if any other children do this, or if they can think of any reason DD might behave this way with Hannah? But we can?t get to the bottom of it and are at a loss as to how to either reassure her or get her to behave better. It?s getting embarrassing as well as being obviously upsetting for all concerned. Any suggestions?
