I think I've got one at the moment! Ds is one next week and doesn't crawl yet - he gets around either via a weird twisting bum shuffle motion or by rolling. He can weight-bear although his knees go all bendy when forced to stand for more than a couple of minutes.
DD is 4 now and she didn't crawl until she was over one (also a roller). She walked at around 18 months if I recall - so pretty late really.

mumball · 12/04/2006 08:58

my DS bottom shuffled until he was three and still occasionally does.

Dophus · 12/04/2006 09:06

DS started to crawl at about 11 months (he used to do a commando crawl prior to this). He's now 15 months and nowhere near walking

harpsichordcarrier · 12/04/2006 09:27

dd1 never crawled - she really didn't like being prone. She cruised around the furniture from about 7 months and walked around 13 months.
she is very active and agile now and a really good climber by the way

MerlinsBeard · 12/04/2006 09:42

DS1 crawled at 11 months and walked the day b4 his first birthday

fredly · 12/04/2006 10:01

my dd crawled at 12m and walked at 14m.

Bozza · 12/04/2006 10:03

Yes and no.

DS - never crawled (well he did but not until after he could walk) or shuffled or anything but walked at 13 months.

DD - crawled at 10 months (but with one foot and one knee at first so proper crawling nearer to 11 months) and also walked at 13 months.

mcmudda · 12/04/2006 10:07

Ds was 10 months when he started being mobile, but he never actually crawled, just dragged his body across the floor using his hands, but his legs trailed behind him. He walked at just over 17 months. Now he's 3.5, he's just been referred for physio because he walks on his arches and is incredibly clumsy - no neurological problems, just a structural problem with the way his feet have grown.

DD is 10 months and hasn't rolled yet and still no sign of crawling - she just sits and stretches. i really thought she'd be keener to get up and go, but it seems I have another immobile baby!

Marne · 12/04/2006 10:09

DD1 did,nt crawl till 11 months but walked at 13 months.
My friends dd is 11 months and still not crawling or sitting unaided but her twin brother is walking.

ghosty · 12/04/2006 10:11

DS crawled at 10 months and walked at 14.
DD bumshuffled at 10.5 months, walked at 15 months but didn't learn to roll until she was 13 months and only then did she learn to crawl. She always preferred bumshuffling though because she had her hands free.

DS (now 6) is a very co-ordinated and active boy and is an excellent soccer player.
DD (now 2) is pretty good on her feet, can jump and hop etc ...

ambercat · 12/04/2006 10:25

Ds1 did'nt move at all until 13mths then he crawled for 2 weeks before walking.
He was late sitting aswell at about 9 mths and did'nt roll over til 7 mths, i was v. worried at the time.
Now he does'nt keep still!! (he's 6 btw)

raggedyanna · 12/04/2006 11:14

Ds cruised from 10-13 months, then crawled from 13-17.5mths and is now almost running at 18.5mths.

BudaBabe · 12/04/2006 11:21

DS sat at 8 mths, crawled at 11 mths and walked at 15 mths.

Got first tooth at 17 weeks tho!!!!

oliveoil · 12/04/2006 11:23

dd1 - very late crawler and even then more of a drag-her-leg-along one. Walked at 17 months.

dd2 - crawled at about a year, still not walking at 20 months Sad.

I will not be obsessed la la la la lalalalalalalala

Bozza · 12/04/2006 11:24

LOL Budababe. Grin. So did my DS. And he now at just turned 5 has got two of his adult teeth, even though only 1 baby tooth has come out. Cue, visit to dentist yesterday.

wangle99 · 16/04/2006 20:46

DS crawled at 10.5 months and walked at 15.5 months.

futurity · 16/04/2006 20:50

DS1 crawled at 10.5 months and walked at 16.5 months. So bit of a shock when DS2 crawled at 8 months and walked at 13!

bubble99 · 16/04/2006 20:52

Angry I've spent years telling Mr Bubble to stop bottom shuffling.

ja9 · 16/04/2006 20:53

ds crawled at 11 months and walked at 16 mths.

NomDePlume · 16/04/2006 20:53

My DD never crawled. She walked at 15 months, which I think is about average.

threebob · 17/04/2006 05:21

Ds crawled at 12 months and walked at 16 months.

Annner · 17/04/2006 22:09

DD crawled at 10.5 months, having sat unaided at 4.5 months. Never really worked out that rolling business.

Still waiting for her to walk now, at 17 months. She stands with support from the sofa/tables etc, she climbs stairs and goes down steps, crawls at speed of several hundred feet per minute... but doesn't yet walk.

I had hoped that the warmer weather and the hassle of crawling on concrete would encourage her, but no.

So, err, yes!
