DD's sleep has gone down the toilet.

She's nearly 7mo and until last month used to sleep from 8-7, although didn't sleep at all during the day.

Now she is averaging 7-8 hours' sleep every 24 hours, either through catnaps no longer than 10 mins (maximum two of these per day) or broken sleep at night whereby she wakes every 2-3 hours to feed.

I am knackered. She is knackered.

I will try anything, but please don't tell me that this is how she will be forever.

Any ideas?

It won't be like this forever. However at 7m waking every 2-3 hours to feed at night is perfectly normal and absolutely fine. So it's her daytime naps that are the tricky thing. Has she been ill or teething? Has anything else changed? What's her routine?

Thanks Zuleika. She hasn't had a decent daytime nap (ie longer than 15 mins) since she was a newborn. I could cope with that when she was sleeping through the night, but now it's a bloody nightmare.

Routine is pretty much up between 5 and 7, bottle, breakfast, play, bottle, lunch, play, bottle, school pick up, snack, play, dinner, bottle, bath, bed.

But she never finishes a bottle, and takes ages to drink one.

My dd sleep was really good until 7 months and it just went a bit to pot too. Every few nights her sleep.pattern changes. Just to keep me on my toes!!
She's now 8 months and i think its starting to get better. She is very close to crawling and i wish she would crack it soon as all night she's on all 4 in her cot trying to crawl lol. Sometimes even whilst asleep!!!
Maybe your dd is about to do something new?!

feekerry · 06/12/2012 20:18

Oh my dd seems to survive on 2 ten min naps a day. Always been this way too. She seems fine with this. I am knackered. Your not alone!

Good to know someone else has been there and it gets better!

Good point about crawling...

I can cope with the daytime if I can sleep at night (just), but DD1 used to nap for four hours at a time. It was great Grin
