Dd wakes up in the middle of the night and ends up in bed with us. She has been ill and teething so we have been waiting til she was completely better before doing sleep training to get her back to sleeping through in her cot. Usually its 2-3 days and shes back to sleeping through.

Anyway, since shes been in with us when she wakes in the morning she wants a bottle of milk first thing and has taken to headbutting us until we wake up.

Its pretty fierce and my head and nose feel very sore afterwards. I've tried ignoring and it doesnt work. In fact she sees me giving her the milk as a reward. Dh has tried telling her off, again doesnt work.

Any suggestions?

My DS went through an early biting stage at about 1 / 1.5. He wasn't really verbal at that age and talking / shouting seemed to have no effect whatsoever.

In the end we decided he needed to connect the idea of biting with hurting someone. He was only connecting biting with "lots of noise and then i get what i want". So whenever he bit us we put him down and burst into pretend tears. We had to do it absolutely consistently so people did think we were absolutely bonkers for a week or so when out and about but it worked very quickly.
