At what age did your dc get themselves ready for bed?

My dd6 requires creaming due to eczema at bedtime, so I am still very involved in her bedtime routine.

I remind her to do things like brush her teeth etc. I am wondering at what age most dc start getting themselves ready for bed.

I hope to use this information to encourage her to be more independent in getting herself ready for bed.
Thanks in advance.

Flo I stayed at a friends on a school night last year and her and my ds were in reception, I was so shocked that I came across rude on the fact he didn't just get up and get dressed like mine, he waited and then she got him dressed. Just couldn't imagine mine doing that.

Sometimes I do doubt myself that I'm to blaise and just get on with it though. I just couldn't be arsed waiting on a child like a servant. Mine even have a bath on their own although to be fair with the living room and bathroom door open I can see them from the sofa.

My DD is 5 and she does everything except her teeth. (She does her own in the morning though). Me or DH still bath her though. We are trying to get her to dry herself but she finds that tricky!
