6 month lg panting like dog?!

A few weeks ago my 6 month daughter developed what sounded like a fake cough, which has now turned into panting, like a dog. Iv ruled out that shes doing it because shes thirsty etc. Im a little bemused! Anyones babies do the same?

my boy is 8months and yes he does it whenever hes excited or sometimes before he shouts random noises. the fake coughing has stopped now, instead he screams (playfully)
I think its funny! :)

Ha yeah I do think its funny she does it when shes excited too, although she also does it when she hasnt got my full attention ie while im cooking and shes in her high chair. Bless them :-)

My DD had coughing as part of her "vocabulary" for a while. Still happens very occasionally, but mainly it came and went.
Not come across the panting with her.

She's definitely doing it on purpose and not because she's struggling to get a breath is she?

Noo course not, if I thought she was struggling for breath I wouldnt be posting on here! Its more of an excited half laugh/half pant, think its just a new noise shes learned how to do to be honest :)

Oh that's good :) It's just sometimes with little ones it's not that obvious - wanted to make sure!

My DD (8 months) also pants when excited! At first I thought she was struggling to breathe and it scared me but it only happens when she's excited so all good

Mine has started trying to purr like the cat

8 month dd does the cough and the pantng as well. I think the panting is just whenshe gets super excited and she picked up the cough when I had a cold and was coughing a lot. I think she was just copyin the sound.
