Dd's sock obsession driving me nuts

Dd2 has developed a sock obsession. She has always been a bit funny with them, but this is getting silly.

An hour this morning to put on one sock. For some reason the left one is always fine but the right one not. It takes her ages to even get the thing on and then even when she does she spends ages messing with the toe part and puts her shoe on and then walks around and takes it off again and so on and so on, she must have put it on and taken it off at least 5 times and then she moaned about it all the way to school.

Have tried different socks but it's the same.
Have tried putting the sock on for her but that doesn't work either.

Please tell me this isn't another obsession (she already has a handwashing/germ one )

it could be another obsession... but it could just be uncomfy socks! i guess they aren't really the kind of thing you can try before you buy?

I'd suggest trying to find some with minimal seams round the toe if that's possible?

otherwise, if it is an obsession then just putting the socks on her and putting her shoes on just before you're about to go so that it can't turn into a bigger issue

I sort of know how she feels - if you think about it too much, socks can feel a bit freaky and you just want them off.

(or is it just me? Blush)

Now it's spring maybe it's time to get her some sandals and try going without socks? She might be over it by autumn.

my god, you mean my dd isn't the only one? It drives me crazy too, no answers, just hope they grow out of it. (Dd is 4 - how old is yours?)
