Please help..My ds 7 1/2 months squels and gurns all day. He seems unhappy when he does this like he is almost on the verge of crying but not quite. He squels and gurns all day and is driving me and dp potty.
He has reflux but im not sure if it is this that is bothering him or if he just wants attention. He squels for most of the day and cant even lie on his back to play with toys. If he rolls to his stomach he just gets upset.
He is sick nearly 2 hours after eating and this is with with solids (He totally refuses milk)
He has an appointment with paediatrics tomorrow and im just hoping they resolve his reflux as gaviscon didnt work.
Will he ever be a happy baby?

whats he like if you sit him up to play? sit him on a mat on the floor with some pillows behind him to prop him up, my dd used to love this as she felt more included than plopped on her back. it should also be a bit less uncomfortable for him with the reflux.

A bit better but not much. I have sat him up quite often to play and he is ok for a wee while but then starts to groan after a few mins. I just cant seem to make him happy at all and I have no idea whats wrong. He does seem happy to be carried in mine or dp arms and is ok in the buggy. He cant quite sit un aided fora long time but ebenproping him up with pillows he just wants to move and toplles forward

what milk is he on? I know it is quite common for reflux and dairy intolerance to go hand in hand. DS had reflux and his dairy intolerance wasnt discovered until he was nearly 2. He was miserable and difficult to deal with up until we cut dairy out of his diet. Maybe worth checking out.

It's not attention seeking: babies do not manipulate like that. But it does sound like either reflux or some major food allergy/intolerance. he will be happy one day!

Hiya

My DS had reflux, but luckily forus it improved no end when he sat up, and again when he walked. The other thing that helped was cranial osteopathy. It def sounds like his reflux to me, good luck with the paeds, hope they can help

Yes, I kniw it's hard but try not to worry and give him all the attention he needs - that'll pay dividends!! Smile
