Trouble Sleeping

Hello, I have 3yo DS and sleeping through the night is something that happens once in a blue moon. He "wakes up" from 2 to 6 times a night for various reasons: sometimes coughing, sometimes having nightmares (or it seems like it), sometimes just babbling or asking for me. I couldn't find one single reason that would explain why he doesn't sleep through the night. It seems to be something different every night what makes finding a solutions a bit more difficult. Anyone with similar problems?

I think that some kids just don't sleep through the night until they are a bit older. I don't think it is abnormal at all. My dd is 26 months and doesn't sleep through and wakes from 2 - 4 times a night now. It used to be a lot more. From what I have read it is nothing to worry about. Of course it is frustrating and would be nice if it were different but that is just the way it is.
