Exactly that. He loves 'Hug' by Jez Alborough...looking for simple, picture led stories...

TIA

What shall we do with the Boo Hoo Baby - my 2 DDs and now DS have all liked this book, mainly for the repetitive animal noises. Can't remember the author but google it.

Dear zoo?

bedmonster · 30/10/2012 11:56

Dear Zoo is a great suggestion, also (most people have at least 1 copy of this though!) The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Handsfulloffun · 30/10/2012 11:59

Rumble in the jungle or The comotion in the ocean

ZuleikaD · 30/10/2012 12:21

My DS likes Dinosaur Dig and Peepo. Also I Am A Bunny

ZuleikaD · 30/10/2012 12:24

Oh, and One Mole, and the other Julia Donaldson/Nick Sharratts of course. I find that if you tell a story using the pictures rather than reading it, then even a nearly-2 will have a pretty good understanding of what's going on, so DS 23m really enjoys some of the 'older' books like Room on the Broom.

A Bit Lost and Oh No, George! by Chris Haughton. DD's more than a little bit obsessed with both. And we're not bored of reading them after the 657th time, which is a bonus.

DS, 2 next week, loves Some Dogs Do, also by Jez Alborough

Some current favourites in our house (DS turned 2 this month):

Duck in the truck (Jez Alborough) also Where's my teddy
Each Peach Pear Plum
Usbourne first 1000 words - not a story but plenty to talk about on each page
Alfie books (Shirley Hughes)
Quack quack moo, we see you
Dougal the Digger (Benedict Blathwayte)
The Little Red Engine (also Benedict Blathwayte)
Chocolate Moose for Greedy Goose
We're going on a bear hunt

All of the above bear repetition, and have plenty to look at in the pictures.

DD (who is 2 in 8 weeks) loves Hug so much. Her other favourites are:
The Baby's Catalogue by Allen and Janet Ahlberg
Ones that others have mentioned that she loves are: Dear Zoo, Peepo, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, We're Going On A Bear Hunt, Each Peach Pear Plum.

She adores Moo Cow Kung Foo Cow by Nick Sharratt (and I love it too!)

But the all time favourite in this house is The Noisy Book by Soledad Bravi. I get it for everyone as a present. It's great.
