I carried on until about 10 months but I know others who stopped way before that.

I think you can stop when DC is old enough to pick things up off the floor and put them in his/her mouth. There doesn't seem much point after that!

I think a year is recommended as there are nasty things that lurk in teats of bottles used for milk. Even if you don't sterilise bowls plates etc

If you report this and ask them to put it in breast and bottle feeding someone more expert than me will probably confirm or counter me.

I just stopped two days ago because DC1 melted the steriliser on the hob. As long as you clean, not rinse, the bottles and teats thoroughly, it is not a problem.

I stopped at 4 months when DS started chewing everything in site.

Like DialM says, as long as the bottles are cleaned properly there isn't a problem.
