last night was the first time in nearly 2 1/2 years dd tried to escape from cot she got stuck with one leg over either side at about 4 am this morning! have put her in a big girl bed tonight for the first time had a bit of a problem getting her to sleep usually i put her in the cot wide awake she chats to her toys for 10 mins or so then goes off to sleep, tonight i had to lie down on the bed with her until she was asleep. worrying i am going to have to do this every night i dont want to create bad sleep associations! part of me is worried she is not ready to go into a bed yet and im preparing for a night of getting up a lot to put her back to bed!

We put ds in a toddler bed at 2 months ago when he was the same age as your dd. The first couple of nights were a bit tough, but he has done pretty well since then.

have you tried leaving her with her toys?

DT1 has gone into a big girl's bed, but DT2 is still in his cot.

You should sit by the side of her bed and gradually get further away if you can.

When ds went inot a bed he kept getting up. had a couple of nights standing outside his door for about 30 mins each time. He got the message and now we only have the problem of him getting up at soem ridicualous hour and wondering about the house!

oh honey... I'm sure all will be well. Rearrange your girl's night out for next week. Prepare to stand outside the door for a while. It will come good.

My little girl climned out of cot at 2yr. She ws always very active at night and so she fell onto the flooe. Make sure you put some balnkets on the floor just in case.
