perhaps you could post on the SN board? There are parents there who really know what they are talking about, hopefully some will see your post here. Sorry you are not getting any help. It sounds like you need to know what is going on. It may be a phase as the doc says or it may be something that needs attention. Does he point? I know that not pointing is an important pointer [excuse pun] for autism. Hope you get some better advice here.

hello ornaecho1.... what have your sons nursery or school said about him.. how does he cope there?

PeachyClair · 23/03/2006 16:29

He needs referring to a paediatrician (My ds1 is As, btw). In the meantime have yu considered these people? \link{http://www.bibic.org.uk/\ BIBIC} ? They can help with a wide range of conditions, from dyslexia onwards, and you most categorically do not need a diagnosis- only a chil with delays or other difficulty.

Sam has been there for his reassessment today and I am constatnly amazed how brilliant they are.

hope to see you on the SN board XX

Can you get your health visitor to refer you to a paediatrician? Maybe the GP would refer you now you have the opinion of the behavioural specialist that he is delayed in language and development. I am sorry you are having such a hard time. Another thing you could try and do is refer yourself to portage - it's a preschool help service for kids with special needs and behavioural problems. Some places accept self-referrals, others are more difficult. see their \link{http://www.portage.org.uk/genFaq.html\website}.

Do come and post on the special needs board if you need to talk some more. Everyone is very helpful and friendly Smile.
