Constant moaning noises at 5mths!?

Hi

I am really desperate now...my 5 mthdd makes this moaning noise and seems to be in pain and this happens all day and night unless highly distracted. I know her teeth are bad cos she always has things in her mouth and really pushes down hard on toys. Have been to doctors and all they prescribe us different milk but she won't touch it. She has 3 puréed meals a day and her normal milk in between and sometimes at night. My cousin said its just her learning to talk but it can't be?? Has been going on for nearly a month now, please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry no advice to offer, I would return to the doctors if I were you. My only thought would be that 3 purees sounds like a lot for a five month old , but I am not a doctor! Maybe you could check with them if they should have that or just the milk

I wouldn't be giving purees at 5 months either. Very bad for immature gut flora that can only digest milk until 26 weeks. It's possible she's got tummyache.

However, have you thought about when her naps are? Both of mine used to make a sort of constant low moaning when they were getting overtired and should be asleep. At 5 months I'd expect a nap after every two hours awake - one morning, one after lunch and one late afternoon.

Have you tried teething powders? smashing stuff, my 6 month old makes constant little squealing noises when shes in pain, I pour a sachet in her mouth and add her dummy for a few minutes to help her spread them across her gums properly and shes quite happy again

Thank you all, dd fast asleep had good day have cut her down to 2 purees and halved the portions and replaces with milk, also more frequent naps and gone back to powders
