I heard a new one today ... that a one year you can expect a LO to be either walking ot talking, not not both. Anyone know if there's any truth behind this?

dd was walking and talking by the age of 1.

I think it's that they concentrate on doing one or the other; my DD was walking at 13 months but her friend was nearer 16 months. Said friend was talking much much sooner than my DD though.

I was told that with dd1. Good talker, big thinker, walked at 15 months.

However dd2 walked at 8-9 months, spoke very early in full sentences.

And ds walked at 10 months, and had about 10-20 words at a year.

True here - DS1 had quite a lot of words at 12 months, but didn't walk until 15 months; DS2 walked at 11 months but at 17 months now still only has a couple of words.
