22 month old cries at loud noises?

dd2 cries and shakes at loud noises, like an ambulance/police car passing with sirens on, hand dryers, dogs barking, kids screaming/shrieking, adults shouting, parties, softplay areas.
do some children have very sensitive hearing or is this a problem>
dd1 has always been scared of hand dryers but other loud noises never bothered her.

thanks

My DS2 is exactly the same. For years we couldn't go to Bonfire Night events. DH got DS some ear plugs from boots - they're pliable, and he used to wear these.

He is now 10 ans appear to be OK.

When he was little we had a couple of trees cut down in the garden. DS2 laid on the floor in the living room and cried for an hour until they'd stopped (poor little mite).

Some children just seem to have very sensitive hearing. Maybe get some ear defenders and ear plugs.

she seems to be the only child bothered by these things when we are out and ive started to worry the is a problem with her ears?
her hearing seems fine, she speaks well, she just says "loud, scared" so its the volume i think

My DD is the same, she has just turned 3 and it seems to be getting a tiny bit better now. She hates softplay places, toddler groups, music classes, sirens, lawnmowers etc etc. Anything that is noisy she just hates and puts her hands over her ears and asks to go home:( I'm not worried at all as some children are just more sensitive to noise. They will grow out of it and be totally fine in time.

Hopefully your DD will grow out of it. DS2 was 9 before this happened. Bonfire night was the worst.
