help - 26month old refusing to nap

my DS has over the past 2 weeks started refusing to take a nap. he sleeps brill at night but will not nap in the day. it makes he horrid to be around from 4.30 until bed time as he is ratty and tired. any tips for nap time?

26 months??!!! Both my DCs refused naps at 18 months. I'm afraid nap time is up.

Sounds like he's dropping it. You will get a few weeks were he will kind of need it and kind of not so hopefully the grumpiness will be temporary.

Ds of same age has re-instated it during a horrible bug but now I'm trying to get rid again now he's well, as I find he's a nightmare to get to bed in the evening if he's had one. You can't force then though, just try and arrange your life so they do or don't get napping opportunities.

Make sure he has got enough snacks as hunger can add to the grumps.
