Third week at school and suddenly 4 year old is kicking up a fuss at the school gates. As far as I am aware nothing has happened but we struggle to pry her away in the mornings at the school gate. Apparently she is fine at school and happy at the end of the day. This only happens when her dad takes her! Any good ideas?

Perfectly, perfectly normal. Often happens a few days/weeks in when they realise this is it, there's no going back. The fact that she is fine at school and happy at the end of the day should reassure you. It's horrible and hard for you but you just have to get through this stage. A school teacher friend of mine helped with my eldest when she was like this (at preschool) telling me by half term, 99% of them are totally fine.
