dd and her period

My dd is 11. Today she came home from school and told me that she had seen blood on the toilet paper when she went to the loo.
However, since then there has been no more.
I have no memory of when I started my periods.
Can anyone with a daughter of this kind of age tell me if it usually starts heavily, or if this could be it.
She's not phased about it by the way.

I started similarly - spotting rather than full on. IIRC the first couple of months were like that.

Thank you for replying. That's annoying. I don't know whether she has officially 'started' or not. She was keen to mark the occasion :)

Smack bang in the middle of the same Confused Last week, spots of blood in bed, then nowt.

Today, frantic texts from her at school as she "was bleeding" & couldn't get to her locker resulting in me contacting the school counsellor to sort her out. Turned out she'd seen spots in the toilet but had no time to deal with it.

But still no real signs of what I'd call a period - I've no idea what's actually going on, tbh. She's a month off her 11th birthday.

Perhaps this is how it starts when they're so young (IMHO) - my first period was a full on proper one at about 13 or 14.
