Just wondered really as dc3 is 'surprising'!

Have heard kids doing it at 4 months- how old is dc3?

33goingon64 · 13/09/2012 19:46

Let me think... 18 months, after he had been walking for 9 months! There is no 'normal'...

StarlightMcKenzie · 13/09/2012 19:46

13 weeks tomorrow. Almost 3 months but not quite. There is a history of developmental disorders in my family so this isn't really a boast any more than a worry. It's fairly amusing to watch however.

DS1 could push himself along his changing mat when he was 10weeks old, but he didn't crawl properly until he was about, rubbish memory - whatever the 'normal expected age' is. The other 2 were slightly later than the expected age, but could both roll over pretty much from birth.

Dd2 was doing it by 6 months. Can't quite remember exactly. Slightly amusing as we were told she might well not crawl due to missing her hand (a proportion don't). So she crawled by 6 months and was the fastest crawler most people saw. Grin. She didn't sit until about 10 months though as whenever you tried to sit her down she just flung herslef on her front and crawled off.
Contrast to dd1 who did all the physical milestones directly on average-we said she'd read all the baby books carefully.

tabulahrasa · 13/09/2012 20:52

DD could drag herself where she wanted to go using just her arms at 4 months and crawl properly at 5, she was walking about at 11 months.

She's 12 and sadly not a genius or even particularly good physically, just desperate to move clearly, lol.

oohdaddypig · 13/09/2012 20:53

mine have both been average-ish - 7 months.

the earliest I heard was 4 months, my friend's DC, who then walked at something ridiculously early like 8 months..

when you say"crawl" though, do you managing to make headway using arms on the floor?

hope you not worried, OP, sounds like you've got a v active DC

5madthings · 13/09/2012 21:00

ds2 was rolling around and wriggling about on the floor by 3 mths and crawled properly at 5 mths. pulling up and cruising at 7mths. it was a fecking nightmare and shock after ds1 who didnt crawl till 9mths.

ds3 and ds4 crawlef at 6-7mths and were quite mobile before that.

dd was later 8-9 mths? but quite mobile from 6mthd.

imo/ime it is hard work having them on the move from a young age!

well done to your little wriggler Grin

Thanks. I'll try hard to enjoy it. It's very funny.

Ds1 crawled 7months, walked at 13months.

Dd crawled at 7months, walked at 10months.

Ds2 crawled at 4months, walked at 9months.

Junebugjr · 15/09/2012 20:50

Dd1 - bum shuffled at 13 months - walked at 16 ish months. She prefered to sit and whinge.

Dd2 - crawled around about 6 months, was running everywhere by 9/10 months.

Much preferred dd1's development, as she had more sense. Apart from the boasting appeal, having little more than a baby running round the place is no fun.

glizzle · 16/09/2012 08:00

My 15 mo is learning to crawl at the moment. He can walk though.
