Hitting

My son had his first settling in session at Nursery today and he was fine when we left him, no crying.

His Dad picked him up earlier and told me he'd been fine, no crying the whole time BUT he'd hit another child with a toy, leaving a mark :(

They also told my partner that he was quite boisterous - which he is, as he's only ever had his older brother (6 years old) and he's quite rough with him.

I'm just a little upset tbh :( I didn't want to send him to Nursery in the first place and now I just feel even worse!

I also don't really know what to do about it? As he's only 17 months old, so I can't really reason with him or even bring it up!

:( It probably sounds pathetic but I've never left him before and I know children do these things but it's really got to me.

It sounds relatively normal to me .
I personally wouldn't mention it, this time, as the nursery staff will have chided him.

It is hard, leaving your child with someone else all day - but keep going, it'll get better Smile

Thank you :)

After sleeping on it and speaking to a friend who works in his nursery, I feel a bit better about it.

I think it was just leaving him and it being the first day made me feel bad about it all!

He's had a brilliant day today so I'm happy :)
