Do your 20 month old DC 'roam' a lot?

DD is my first child so unsure of whether this is 'normal' or not. But for most of the time she has very little attention span for toys and activities. When we are in playgrounds, she 'roams' from one thing to another without much interest in staying on anything.

I worry that she roams too much without sticking at anything, but I also know that these are my expectations. I try to remember she is so tiny and everything is new. Perhaps someone can reassure me? Or not!

Sorry, I should have said she does play with toys and has her favourites, but is easily taken away from them and seems to move from one thing to another.

My dd is same age and exactly the same in the playground, I think everything just looks so interesting to them that have to keep wandering around trying things.

Same here. In fact i watched Finding Nemo again recently and was surprised at how much like Dori my DS is. "Oh, what's that? That looks so interesting!" an then, 60 seconds later: "Oh, what's that?! That looks sooooo interesting!!" Ad infinitum. One day i'm sure he will sit down for more then 10 minutes and draw me a lovely picture. But for now the world is just far, far too interesting to stop still for long.
