1yo obsession with other side of baby gate!

DS has pretty much the run of the house other than the hallway where we keep our bikes. He is obsessed with getting over there. It's ridiculous, he's been having a full on nervous breakdown for the past two hours because I won't let him get over there, even hurting himself getting a leg in the bar.
I've tried distracting him but he's obsessed!

Has he got a little ride-on thingy that he can play on to take his mind of it?
It's just curiosity, take him out there and show him the bikes etc then take him back into the living room or could he have left a small toy out there that he is desperate to get?

It will probably be easier for you both for you to take him into the hall to investigate the bikes for 5-10mins.

He is curious and that is very healthy. He sees everyone else going there and all this cool equipment, absolutely normal he wants to go too.

Oh they are so cute.

He's had more than enough time to explore the bikes over the past few months, from pulling them on himself to getting his fingers caught in the chain, hence the baby gate!
i've done a sweep for fallen dummy's/shiny things that he might want but I think it's more that he resents the gate!

Sounds like he disagrees you on that one!

My little boy spent a lot of time at the gate, too. Once he'd figured out how to open it he was a lot happier.
