Hi All - please can someone help with a dilemma I am going through with my 3 1/2 year old daughter. For some reason, for the past two months my daughter isnt weeing properly on the toilet. She started standing on the seat and said this is because she had seen daddy stand up to wee so she wanted to be the same - fair enough I thought - obviously she doesnt realise difference etc. However, she has now started getting hold of a plastic jug and trying to wee in that and then puts it in the toilet - she claims she does not want to or like to wee in the toilet but cannot explain why.

Please can anyone help - shes been fully toilet trained for in excess of a year and doesnt do this anywhere else - pre-school, relatives etc. I am reaching the end of my tether. I also work from home so not only do I want this sorting for my daughters sake, I also need my bathroom to be clean for my customers :(

I find what works with children most times is non flowery honesty. Try to explain that if she continues she will end up missing and smell of wee! Girls sit down for a reason. It's hard but straight talking can sometimes be best. It's completely normal for children to be curious.
