11 month old spitting out food, any ideas?

Hi, I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on this. My 11 month old has been very fussy with food for the past 3 weeks or so. She may take a few mouthfuls, and then she starts spitting it out. When I give her finger foods she just plays with it and throws it on the floor. She is not eating much at all and I feel like she is getting thinner, and she wasn't really a chubby baby to start with. I am starting to get stressed out about it, I really don't want meal-times to become a battle ground but if I don't try to persevere she won't eat anything. She is still drinking milk and will generally eat pureed fruits or yoghurt. I make most of my own food (veggie dishes, lentils, pasta, rice etc) and only occasionally give her Ella's kitchen or similar, which she still spits out.

I would really appreciate any advice, or just for people to reassure it's normal!

She's probably just experimenting, DS didn't eat much at this age. Just relax put food on her tray leave her to it, if she eats make a big fuss if not just clear it up and move on.

Make sure she's still getting her milk, they won't stave them selfs but the last thing you want is for meal times to become a battle ground.

Thanks for the advice, I have been trying to just not worry or get stressed if she doesn't eat and keep giving her fruit and milk which she never refuses! Things are still a little up and down but better so thanks for replying anyway.

My DS just turned 11 months and went through a week of spitting out his food recently which I think was related to teething. He had always been very good with feeding himself but for that time when his teeth were hurting he was dropping half of the food out of his mouth and spitting it out too, I think because it hurt too much to chew. He lost a little weight as well.

Could she be teething? If so, maybe stick with soft purees for a while until she grows out of it.

DS is back on track again but has now developed an obsession with trying to feed himself with a spoon aka dipping spoon in the food and waving it around, splattering everything in sight. Driving me nuts...!
