Interesting Attachment objects for Toddler

Lil smeared is 25 months and it's just dawned on me that his backpack is an attachment object or Lovey as some of the books call it. It's a fish one by LittleLife.

I suppose it's a quite a practical attachment objects as I'm always packing a sippy cup into it and some snacks. But I'm sure he would with it on some nights given a chance.

Let me know if your toddler has any unusual "Loveys"..

Our hands. He likes nothing better than to have fingers to squeeze.

You may as well do toddler in a stylish way!

We thought we'd have the usual teddy bear/stuffed cat thing, but no. He likes his doggy pillow, which is just a half-sized foam-chip pillow with a full-sized and rather old Snatch the Dog pillowcase on. Big pillow doesn't work, has to be the small, huggable one.

And he's nearly 5!

mumtomoley · 03/09/2012 12:08

Cups! He's almost grown out of it now at 16 months but for about the last five months he carried 2 cups around with him (one in each hand) at all times. Got quite adept at doing other stuff and playing with other toys while not letting go of his cups Grin

DottyWottyDooDah · 03/09/2012 12:12

Mumtomoley, that's funny. Did his cups have to have drinks in?

My ds just loves boobs, won't attach to anything else Sad

DottyWottyDooDah · 03/09/2012 12:13

And i reckon he'd wander round with a boob in each hand if he could!

My 3 year old is attached to a silk camisole, he has it in bed and it came on holiday. He feels the fabric when he goes to sleep and it is referred to as his "silky"

William has a very wrecked pillow and two certain pillowcases we use for it. It is cot pillow I gave in and gave to him when he was nearly a year old because he used to bundle up the blankets to rest his head on. He has loved it ever since.

He now has a bed and a proper pillow but he still carries round the other one. It is falling apart due to being cuddled so much. He also loves his 'My Pal Scout' toy which I suppose is more normal.

ContinentalKat · 03/09/2012 17:08

My friend's ds carried a wooden spoon around for quite a while...

Haberdashery · 03/09/2012 17:34

My daughter fell in love with a small pumpkin at a similar age. I managed to redirect her attentions before it got mouldy.

procrastinor · 03/09/2012 17:38

Ah. Ds loved a small travel hairdryer for a wee while. It was replaced by a hand held little vacuum cleaner as he could switch it on.

procrastinor · 03/09/2012 17:39

Plus it's a bonus because he will actually vac up the floor with it. Hooray!

mumtomoley · 04/09/2012 11:23

Dotty empty cups (like stacking cups, or empty brightly coloured weaning pots.) Full cups would have been even more impressive!

I have tried giving him rabbitty/teddy bear type comforters in the hope it would help him sleep through the night but he very solemnly and adamantly shakes his head. No thanks mummy I am happy with my cups!

mumtomoley · 04/09/2012 11:24

Inspired choice procrastinor. DS is very keep on the broom/mop/dustpan at the moment perhaps I will try and encourage one of them as a new attachment!
