Perchance to dream...

Oh dear. 18 mo DD's been in her toddler bed for a month now and what with various teething/MMR disturbances as well as the upheaval of the change from cot to bed itself, she's just not sleeping as well as she used to.

As if to prove this point, she was back in a cot and back in a Gro bag (and in the same room as Mummy) at my mum's for five days last week and she slept like a log. Eleven hours solid every night and a good 1 1/2 to 2hr nap during the day.

It's as if she likes the confinement of the Gro bag and the cot and feels comforted by it, whereas in her big bed she's just in her pyjamas and she kicks off the covers - she's never got used to covers - and invariably ends up in with us, tossing and turning all night.

I can't go back to the cot - she'd climbed out of it. Also, due to the shape of our flat it would be a real nightmare to get a gate on her door.

Any ideas? If I knew she'd stay in bed I'd love to put her back in her Gro bag, but that's just not safe is it?

Help! xx

Why isn't it safe? If that's what works for you....... If you're worried she'll fall out can you put some pillows or her duvet on the floor so she'll 'bounce'? Do what you can/need to all get some decent sleep. DD1 was in her bag/cot till she was 2 and then transitioned overnight so maybe your DD is just too young yet?

I was just thinking in terms of her getting out of bed and trying to walk in her Gro bag - she'll fall flat on her face, surely?

She is young. Really didn't want to do it so early but as she was climbing out of the cot I felt I had no choice really...

She'll be fine in the Grobag.

Both ds anddd mastered a kind of walk shuffle in their gro bags when they were in beds, but still in gro bags, they never fell flat on their faces

Both mine were in a grobag when in bed, they were fine and developed a shuffle early on!
