My DD is obsessed with watching a sitcom where she is literally having to watch it back to back and also she is taping them all the time and they are building up on her TV Drvie. We have taken away her TV as she gets very aggressive and moody if we ask her to come away from it or stop watching it.

Also she wants to play on computer games all the time and be on her phone, we have tried santioning this to 2 hrs a day,

but wondering how long do you allow your children to be on the computer and to have TV time?

I have tried to lure her away from it all with offers to do things get her into things but the gadgets are just too much of a pull, we have confiscated them too but as soon as she gets them back she is the same.

I dont think just taking the whole lot away will help as she gets very angry but has anyone had to chart or schedule their child (bit like supernanny but for a tween) and if you have any ideas.

Thanks for any advise.

I found I had to set rules, some of mine can self-moderate but others would be on there 24/7 without stopping to eat (or share), given a chance. My situation is too different for my limits to easily compare to what you need for a single 11yo, I have 4 kids to cater for, but basically:

I don't worry about phone or DSi time, except they usually have to go off at bedtime.

TV-video-games I would limit to 2-4 hrs/day in the holidays, and even then only 5 days/week. Which makes it easier to plan outings. It can still be like pulling teeth to get them to go out anywhere, though.

Thanks for your response lljkk this is it, I think like you say she needs to self moderate herself!! Had a chat with her this morning. She has 2 hrs tv but not the same programme one after the other and computer time 2 hrs one hr in the morning and 1 hrbin afternoon ( non school days) I don't know, it's very hard to know wht to do. But we've had a calm chat today about it.

Thanks again for your reply.
