cutting a tooth - long naps

Hi, my 10 mth old is cutting her first tooth - I can feel it at last! Hurrah! But she's already clocked up 3 1/2 hrs of naps today and still going. Is it normal to nap more in teething? Sleep last night was been pretty normal but this seems a lot of sleep!

All of mine slept more when they were teething, I put it down to their sleep being less restful due to being in pain - although their night sleep quantity wasn't disrupted much I'm sure the quality was.

Thanks Fuzzymum1, I just didn't know if I should be waking her up because of disturbing her night tonight. I didn't wake her though and after a total of 4 hrs in the day today she's gone down no problem now. Must just exhaust them I guess.

Never wake a sleeping baby! My dd grumbles in her sleep when she is cutting a tooth so I know it is affecting the quality of her sleep. For her molars I have given infant Nurofen just before bed if she is really suffering. Teething is horrible,

My dc is the same during bouts of teething.
