Has anyone read "The Whole-brain child"?

I was thinking of buying this as I am interested in helping my ds develop his emotional intelligence and I am also interested in the topic in general.
I am generally quite chilled and go with the flow and I think I have a pretty long fuse but when it runs out I get very very angry. I remember being like this since I was a child and I think I would have benefited from some guidance about how to be more assertive earlier instead of getting angry or how to deal with anger in a different way. I am trying to work on my own issues, but, as I said I would like to have some tools to guide ds along the way.
Do you think this book would help me do that?
