15 month old shoes

Hi, my 15 month old DS has never crawled and has been 'cruising' for around 3 months now, will walk confidently with one hand held etc, but is not walking unaided. He loves to 'walk' whereever we are, out and about etc. He is always barefoot at home or even in the garden but I worry he should have something on his feet when out and about e.g. park where he cruises around the climbing frame etc or at toddler groups - worried he may be stood on! Do I get him measured for shoes now? I'd always understood I should wait until he's walking unaided for a few weeks.

Just get something completely soft and flexible with a leather sole, something like a robeez pre-walker.

Nowali moccasins? Depends whether you think that'll be enough protection, but they're great at staying on feet, will keep his toes cosy as it gets colder, and you can just chuck them in the washing machine. If he's used to being barefoot then they might be a gentler option than shoes if you prefer.

At this stage I got DD cruisers from Clarks, but she was barefoot at home. I thought this was for the best as they measure length and width. However they are a bit pricey, with 20 odd pounds being the cheapest.
