Please tell me I'm being stupid...

But DD (18months) has had a very sudden and hugely obvious increase in appetite and I read something about this being one of the signs for diabetes in toddlers so I've now got this niggling worry.

However, it has coincided with me weaning her off the bottle. She's on a cup now but because of the change she's drinking less than half the milk she used to drink, so it could be that.

She's also had a recent (and very sudden) growth spurt.

Just need a bit of reassurance! She's always been on the petite side - 25th centile height and weight, so overeating has never been an issue at all. I just can't believe how much she's putting away at the mo! Any advice?

DS did this when we weaned him off the bottle, sounds completely normal to me especially if accompanied by a growth spurt :)

Totally normal growth spurt.

coming off bottle and a growth spurt - yup, she'll be putting away more food than you think will fit in!

Normal normal normal - enjoy it while it lasts, ime toddlers do something just till you are used to it before changing tack entirely, so don't panic if she decides some point next week that food is for wimps. Grin

Phew! Thanks all! You know what it's like when you get an idea in your head and it won't go away. Totally reassured. Smile
