Please help! Toddler DD 2.4 has taken to high pitched screaming and squealing and shrieking all the freaking time! She seems to think it Is funny and we have tried ignoring and not reacting and she is just not getting the message! Is this normal?! God knows what our neighbours must think! Please tell me this is a phase and will pass and how you coped?

Is it when she gets overexcited? My niece used to do this, my sister tried ignoring and it made no difference, in the end she had to resort to taking my niece away from the thing that was exciting her and would quietly and firmly tell her she mustn't screech like that, and she was scaring mummy/auntie rockchick / some random child. Once she calmed down she was allowed to return to what she had been doing. Didn't take long to stop her doing it :)

Perfectly normal, you can just say 'don't screech like that, please' and they soon get past it.

We are trying that so hopefully it will start sinking in an pregnant and it is doing my hormone headaches no favours Smile thanks for replies
